Intermediate Year

Computer Engineering has 15 places available each year for students entering at the 1st Professional (Year 2) level

Those students who have passed 126 points (18 points=1 course) at the Intermediate level in one year are allocated places primarily based on their Intermediate Year Grade Point Average (GPA). A GPA of 5.00 (equivalent to a B average) or better in the prescribed intermediate courses will guarantee entry into the programme.

To enter the 1st Professional Year (Year 2) from Intermediate year you must have completed the following courses:

You must take one further optional course to bring your workload up to 8 courses, except students completing Intermediate Year in 2007.

It is highly advised that you select:

as this course will help prepare students for PHYS114 and 

will allow entry to both the Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering programmes.

Modified Intermediate

Students with a good level 3 NCEA performance may offer courses including level 200 courses in lieu of the compulsory Intermediate Year courses. Choice of courses is subject to the approval of the Dean of Engineering.
