The ability to effectively express thoughts and opinions using written English is an important skill of any engineer. In the 1st Professional Year Design and Management course, ENEL211, there is an Academic Writing Assessment Test (AWAT) for those students who have not already passed such a test in Engineering Intermediate. If you do not pass this test you will be required to obtain some help with your written English and then pass a re-sit.
Direct Entry 2nd Professional year students are also required to undertake the Academic Writing Assessment Test (AWAT).
Help may be obtained through the Academic Skills Centre on the 7th floor of the main library. You may also find the Student Services website useful.
